LG PX950

THX have accorded the 3D certification to LG and the factors of color accuracy, cross-talk, and processing performance have been judged whilst giving the certification. The same THX have given the 2D certification also but that is not as exciting as in this case.

VP of THX, Rick Dean explains “THX spent more than a year in the lab developing our certification criteria and testing methodologies for 3D TVs and content. A THX 3D Certified TV must be capable of delivering consistent stereoscopic images with accurate color and clean processing.”

TruBlack Filter technology has been incorporated by LG into the making of their PX950 plasma. This filter blocks the reflection thereby creating deeper blacks. There is the Dual XD engine also that helps in upscaling standard definition content to HD very easily. One can also watch content from Netflix, Vudu, YouTube and more as the set has Netcast feature inbuilt.

There are two sizes of the set available as of now, with the 50 inch selling at $1,999 and the 60 inch going for an MSRP of $2,999.
