ESPN 3D services would be launched on 5th April which would coincide with the Masters Golf Tournament and NBA playoff events. This was announced by officials at the Verizon FiOS TV.

Customers of FiOS TV would be able to receive the ESPN 3D service which however necessitates tem to have 3D capable TV set as well as 3D glasses if applicable. Then there also is a need for high definition set-top box. No extra charges would be levied for this channel for FiOS TV subscribers who have paid for the Ultimate HD Package already. Else a charge of $9.99 per month would be levied for viewing the channel.

63 million homes would now have ESPN 3D beamed to them, thanks to the Verzion factor. 100 events would be beamed in the first year as per targets set up by Verzion themselves.
