TCL recently announced its future 3D TVs would come integrated with components made by Sensio Technologies. Sensio is based in Montreal and their technology in the HiFi 3D as well as S2D field would be used by TCL in their forthcoming 3D sets.

TCL made 3D TVs are however yet to be available in the global market and are restricted to the local market only as of now.

The technology is a frame compatible one and processes stereoscopic signal with high fidelity for use on the display panels. Sensio has seven years of experience in this field.

With the Sensio S2D technology incorporated in the set viewers can switch between 3D and 2D viewing easily. The format that the technology supports is the common HDMI frame compatible 1.4a format. It also supports side-by-side (SbS), top-and-bottom (TaB), checkerboard and Sensio Hi-Fi 3D.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with a company as prestigious as TCL,” said Nicholas Routhier, SENSIO president and CEO. “TCL is a driving force in making 3D a reality, and together we will work to give the best 3D experience to the consumers on both sides of the Pacific. These combined efforts are another concrete expression that the 3D sector is now entering a new and stimulating phase, and we at SENSIO will make sure that the consumer’s expectations of quality, content, usability and compatibility are at the center of our efforts.”
