Out of all those planning to procure a HDTV, almost 50 percent of them prefer to own a 3D TV set. But then, there is nothing to be too excited about as the figure is 28 percent lower than the estimated figures.

As per reports dispatched by TDG based on their latest research, the folks actually prefer connected TV more than 3D TV sets. What is more startling is that soon in the near future, the connected television sets are expected to replace the three dimensional ones. The credit would go to the superior functions the gadgets are equipped with. While purchasing a television set what one thinks is that whether they should go for a set featuring an internet connection or 3D or both. It really doesn’t matter to them whether HD is there or not. However, internet connection is considered to be more essential than 3D.

The various surveys conducted have revealed that the TV consumers appreciate Internet connectivity more than 3D since 2009. Greeson further explained that 3D and net connectivity are not compatible to each other. Internet connectivity is included in many of the television sets as basic feature these days. Thus net has now become only a standard feature where as 3D still remains a feature which can be owned only if one wishes to pay those extra dollars. However the survey in totality has good news for the depressed market too. The surveys conducted have disclosed that more than 56 percent of the households in US are likely to purchase a new television in the next half year. Approximately 20 million new purchases during the next few months have been estimated.
