Samsung executive on Tuesday remarked that 3D TV sets where the viewer could see the content in 3D format without wearing glasses is yet an improbable issue.

The same company had earlier this year stated that they were in the process of developing glass free 3D TV technology. Toshiba and others who are rivals of Samsung are also in the process of developing such a technology and they too indicated expectation of the coming out with a solution in the next few years.

John Revie, VP of Samsung Electronic home entertainment section has said that for the next few years it is going to be 3D with the glasses.

Low resolution factor and high price are the reasons why 3D TV without glasses is not being able to turn into reality as yet as per him. The panels would be very costly to support such a technology and the resolution at which the pictures are displayed in screen would be low. Without glasses even the lowest of resolution pictures get distorted is the finding. It would be a motionless viewing that would occur without glasses as per Revie.

There have been large investments by Samsung into the 3D world both by way of TV sets as well as Blu-ray players. They have also launched into developing some applications for their latest consumer electronics and this includes their 3D TV sets.

A reward of US$500,000 has been announced by the company to developers in the 3D realm for individuals as well as teams.

Though the present moment the contest is limited to TV sets only with time it would encompass all other devices that are electronic and for entertainment. Movies that would be viewed on TV screens would also be available for mobile devices given Samsungs desired projects succeeding in their goals.

Revie has also mentioned that Samsung is trying to stream 3D to the TV via the internet. 3D movie trai9ers have been announced by Samsung as being streamed for TV viewers to watch.
