Samsungs new 3D LED TV offers a few different ranges, aside from the new 64 inch TV. It also offers a 46 and 55 inch screen size with chrome finnish.

The new Samsung Series 8 features all of the leading technologies found in the current 3D LED TV Series 7 range, including Internet@TV services, PVR functionality and Skype. In addition, it features Pinpoint Dimming technology delivering an even more detailed and vibrant picture.

The 3D LED TV Series 8 includes Samsung’s Pinpoint Dimming technology that merges the advantages of LED edge-lighting with the control of local dimming technology in directly back-lit LED televisions.

“Pinpoint Dimming uses an array of special LEDs that create diamond-shaped areas of light to illuminate objects on the panel. Areas can vary in size and shape according to the light required, and an algorithm calculates where the light should be targeted to intensify contrast. The result: higher contrast ratios, deeper blacks, vibrant colours and enhanced energy efficiency,” said the company.

Samsung 3D capable TVs have the ability to convert existing 2D content into 3D, allowing you to watch traditional 2D TV broadcasts, console games and standard DVD or Blu-ray movies in 3D-like depth.
