The rollout of new 3D televisions is becoming more aggressive as Panasonic announced today that buyers of its new Viera VT25 Full HD 3D Plasma TV will also receive exclusive 3D Blu-ray versions of “Coraline” and “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.”

Panasonic is joining forces with Universal and 20th Century Fox to deliver the exclusive versions of “Coraline” and “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs,” which will more closely simulate what audiences saw in theaters, utilizing the Panasonic 3D Active Shutter Lens Eyewear.

Moviegoers flocked to see “Coraline” and “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” in theaters in 3D to the tune of over $75 million and $196 million at the U.S. box office, respectively. Both titles were also among the most popular selling Blu-ray and DVD titles last year using the traditional 3D glasses.

Consumers who purchase a Panasonic Viera VT25 Full HD 3D Plasma TV between May 16 and July 10, 2010 will be able to receive the two Blu-ray 3D titles via mail-in coupon. They have not yet been announced to be available on store shelves individually.

“Working with valued partners like Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Universal Studios Home Entertainment, we are not only bringing Full HD 3D Home Theater Systems to consumer homes now, but we’re also providing Viera purchasers with critically acclaimed content so that they can begin enjoying the immersive world of Full HD 3D immediately,” said Henry Hauser, Vice President, Panasonic Display Group.

The TV sets are currently available at the a price point of $2,599.95 for the 50-inch class, $2999.95 for the 54-inch class and $3,399.95 for the 58-inch. The 65-inch will hit stores later in June at a price of $4,299.95.

Samsung is also offering an exclusive Blu-ray 3D title with the purchase of their Full HD 3D televisions. Buyers will get a copy of Dreamworks’ blockbuster “Monsters vs. Aliens,” while a Blu-ray 3D version of “Avatar” is in development for release next year.
