Hitachi today announced they are releasing a new 3DTV in Japan August 28th that will be controlled by the Apple iPad! The company is betting on the unherladed success of the iOS based tablet to get customers to skip Apple TV and buy the Hitachi one instead.

There are six different models of the same 3D TV coming out which the main differences are merely screen size. One of the best ones is a new 50 inch that has many people enamoured with the possiblity of a solid resolution of 1920X1080 for full 3D quality.

Instead of relying on a remove control you can turn the volume up and down using the iPad. You can also preview a channel in real time! So you can continue to watch TV and preview another channel you want to watch on your  tablet. The application will be named the Wooo remote app and can also be used on your iPhone.

The TV’s main model number will be the P50-GP08 and will also sport a 500 GB internal HD to store recorded data to and a contrast ratio is 5,000,000:1. It will also have 5 TV Tuners and 4 HDMI Ports!
