LG Launches Exclusive Game World For Its CINEMA 3D Smart TVs
LG has announced the launch of its Game World service which the South Korean giant is claiming will set off a “new era of downloadable casual 3D games”. The service is meant for its CINEMA 3D line of Smart TVs. It is like any other app store with the option to browse through games, or purchase them and keep. All the games can be played via the company’s Magic Remote though LG has also stated the games are compatible with third party gamepads if playing with a remote is too dull an affair for avid gamers.
The online store has features to allow for searching a game by its genre which includes action, adventure, arcade, puzzle, RPG, shooter, simulation, sports, and strategy. One will also be fed with all the information on the latest additions to the store as well as allowing the user to look for specific game by its title. Games are rated by popularity and this is also visible to the person visiting the site. One can get free games as well and paid ones. Also, with the service being exclusive to LG’s 3D Smart line of TVs, it all but natural for 3D games to be featured in them.
The store is yet in the making for its final appearance and LG mentions that the games would be family friendly ones only. Games with too much of violence or adult content are not expected to make it to the store. Users would also be provided with a tutorial on how to navigate the store to find their choice of game. As of now there are games like Cut the Rope, Plants vs. Zombies and Air Penguin 3D that one can find in the store.
The store is expected to be fully active by the second half of this year when more details of the games would be available.
