LG Electronics Dominates 3D TV Market in Mexico

Industry report indicate LG Electronics is ruling the roost so far as 3D TV sales in Mexico goes. The figure speaks about the sales in the year 2011.

In percentage of market share, LG has under its control 33 percent with Sony Corp trailing close with 32.6 of the Mexican market. Samsung is trailing further at 27.1 percent. These figures come from NPD Group who specializes in market research.

The LG TV sets are based on passive technology, or also known as film-patterned retarder technology. Their sets based on this technology have been ruling the market since second quarter of 2011.

LG is the local electronic guy of South Korea. They have indicated a production of 6.5 million 3D TV units for the Mexican market this year. Compared to 2010 this amounts to an increase by 30 percent.

So far as the global market goes, LG electronics have plans to cater for 25 percent of the market. If they do succeed, they would sure go right to the top in global sales figures too.
