LG has claimed that a poll conducted indicates that four out of five viewers preferred the passive technology being used by LG to the active one being used on Samsung and Sony 3D TV. The war between companies using active glasses and passive glasses therefore continues. Morpace Incorporated had carried pout the survey using the displays without any brand name being displayed on the product. The passive technology used on the LG LW5600 HDTV model was found to be bright and comfortable for viewing. There was however the artifact effect noticed at the edges as well on the text which was not so in the case of active shutter glassed 3D TV. Data on the test that had been carried out as well as various press reports that have been released are available on the net for reading. The battle lines are quite clear. Each 3D TV manufacturer is trying to woo the consumer for their own set and technology.
