LG 84LM9600 – 4K UHDTV Priced $20K in the US, Sales Begin Next Month
LG has been showing off its 4K 3D TV the availability of which was till now limited in South Korea and the good thing is that that is set to change. The LG 84LM9600 the biggest USP of which is its 84 inch 4K UHD display will start making its appearance on the US retail scene from this month itself. This could have been the best piece of news for those on Stateside who have been eagerly waiting for the 3D TV’s release there though there is a heavy price attached to it. At $20k its not exactly what we call cheap though that’s the price to be paid for a 3D TV that is capable of four times the resolution of current gen HDTVs. Based on LG’s passive glasses Cinema 3D technology, the TV comes with all the bells and whistles that you can expect though the one thing that can still be a source of botheration after having spent that much is the general lack of 4K content. But that is sure to change if 4K catches on with the crowd in a big way.
