Just 2% in UK is interested in 3D TV

In a survey carried out amongst 4199 individuals 89 of them responded with a positive intent for purchasing a 3D TV by the end of next year. The survey had been carried out by YouGov and they carried out the survey for Deolite. Gi.biz has however clarified that this number are of those people who intend to buy a 3D TV and does not include those who would buy a 3D TV as a new introduction into their home. This number amounts to just 2% of the total UK customer base who form the likely buyer group for 3D TV sales. People over the age group of 45 have indicated least interest in this new wave gadget. Amongst new television buyers the interest for 3D TV was only 7 percent.
The media director of Deolitte Paul Lee in a talk with the Telegraph said “It is remarkable how conservative people’s predictions for their own technology spending habits over the coming year were. Belts have tightened after the economic downturn and with little understanding of what lies ahead, consumers are still being cautious.”
Last month a similar survey had been carried out in Japan coming up with similar conclusions where 70 percent of the respondents indicated no interest at all in buying a 3D TV. All these figures indicate a not so happy future for the 3D gaming world. Only in the long run if the prices fall below the current high tags and more features are added possibly the 3D gaming world may see some rise in interest.
