There is a gradual change unfolding as far as availability of 3D content is concerned as more and more movies are now becoming avilable in 3D format. And the biggest positive effect of the change is that this has led to an increase in demand of 3D TV sets as well. Also, a revolution of sorts is being experienced when it comes to 3D technology. A TV set that employs techniques of 3D presentation like stereoscopic capture, multi-view capture, or 2D plus depth, and a 3D display is called a 3D TV set. The gadget is therefore capable of projecting a digital signal that carries the TV program into a realistic three dimensional perspective.

Many a company and that too big names in the consumer market have been adding their version of the 3D HDTV. One recent addition to this plethora is from Vizio and their model that they have recently unveiled is the Theater 3D HDTV. The set comes in sizes ranging from 22 to 71 inches and requires the passive glasses to view the 3D format. They have released 21 models in their press release and this includes LED edge lit LCDs, direct LED backlit models, and a few of the Google TV-powered models.

There have been 3D TV sets from the likes of Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, LG and Panasonic as well. The first 70 inch Ultra Definition 240 Hz 3D TV has been unveiled by Samsung. This one uses super high speed silicon technology which allows for smooth motion and 3D viewing. There is also the Series 9 3D TV from Samsung which is part of their flagship line. These sets are ultra thin in dimension having edge lit LED technology and available up to 65 inches in size. There is also the 7000, 8000 and 9000 series of LED TV from Samsung which incorporates a built in 3D processor.

Not to be left off the race is the big player Sony who has added a number of masterpieces to the 3D TV world. There is the Signature LX900 Series which utilizes full HD 3D and works at 200 Mhz. The set incorporates the Motionflow Pro technology and has a built-in Wi-Fi and DLNA connectivity. There are the HX900 and HX700 models from the same company which is available in 47 and 52 inch having feature full HD LED screens, Image Blur Reduction technology and Motionflow 200Hz Pro.

Another new TV set the VT20 Plasma from Panasonic has also been available in the market. Toshiba’s ZX900 Series TV sets come with multi-core Cell processor. And there is the LE9500 series from LG which was unveiled by the company only recently. Their range of sets has support for both passive as well as active shutter systems depending on the set.

There is all probability the 3D HDTV is slowly making inroads into the television market and would soon be a common item if one goes by these emerging trends. As of now there is Samsung which tops the list in this technology. They have also mentioned about their plans to go in for an integrated 3D technology that would convert 2D into 3D format in real time.
