Cable Labs would be hosting an Interop event at its Lowville, Colo, and headquarters very soon. They have stated they would come up with their latest 3D TV implementation plans at this event.

Demonstration of hardware like set top boxes as well as 3D TV sets which conform to OpenCable standards and parameters would be up on display at this event to be held between Feb 13 and 17. List of attendees have not been disclosed but players like Panasonic could be expected at the show for they are the official sponsors of the 2012 Summer Olympic and would be airing that event via NBC channels.

Allegro DVT has supplied the 3D TV Lab to Cable Labs, and they have added some calibrated 3D TV video test suites to it.

Cable Labs have now focused on 3D after other cable operators have already placed their mind into this technology.

CableLabs had showcased 3D TVs from Sony, Hyundai, LG and Panasonic during the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo way back in 2009 when 3D was just beginning to make its presence felt.
