Apple Granted Patents For 3D TV Remote
Apple has been granted a total of 22 patents this week, which is in addition to their already existing patent for 27 that were granted them last week. Some of the patents worth mention are that for 3D Apple TV remote and another by which the battery life of an iOS device can be increased.
The remote for which Apple has been granted patent is quite futuristic in nature. The remote, as per reports in the Patently Apple magazine, is one that would be able to even detect motion or a gesture that is used on a touch screen. This patent game is a sure indication that there is an HDTV that Apple must be in the process of making. To increase the battery life of iOS devices a mini electromagnetic induction system is going to be built into the system. One could thereafter be able to shake their device like the iPad or iPhone or iPod and the battery would get charged. In fact, electromagnetic induction could soon become standard fitment on all Apple devices to get charged.
The hardware patents that Apple won as per reports from US Patent and Trademark Office are the iMac, Cinema Display and MacBook Air.
Another patent that Apple has won is on its method to display digital images on it screens of the iPad. The patent has many linked patents like the one on ‘Displaying Digital Images using Groups, Stacks, and Version Sets,’ and ‘Viewing Digital Images on a Display Using a Virtual Loupe.’ Apple now would have exclusive rights to the technology that they use with their Photo App on their devices. This app has been cloned by other competitors till now.
There are some patents that yet Apple is pursuing which include those related to User interface for presenting media information, remote slide presentation, Method and apparatus for simplifying the decoding of data, Selective composite rendering, Backlight control of electronic device, Methods and systems for forming a dual layer housing, Audio connector control system.
