3net and Red Bull Media House Partner team up in 3D Initiative

Content producer Red Bull Media House North America (RBMH NA) has teamed up with 3D Network 3net to bring the Red Bull events in 3D format. 3net comprises of Sony, Discovery and Imax and they have the 2010 Red Bull Rampage already slated for Sunday. The Red Bull Rampage is a biking event wherein only invited performers take part in the free ride mountain biking contest. The course takes the bikers through rugged downhill terrain and there are some man made obstacle too that the bikers have to overcome.
There is also the event of RBMH NA’s short-form 3D content developed around the 2010 US Open of Surfing that 3net will also premiere
There is active discussions that the companies are indulged in which would bring across many other co-productions in the future.
Werner Brell, managing director of the RBMH NA said, “The Red Bull Media House North America has a strong commitment to 3D technology and content.”
The aim of 3net as per their own statement is to hold the world’s largest library of 3D content, which they wish to achieve by end of 2011. There is also a four part series of The Civil War in 3D format that 3net is currently producing.
President and CEO of 3net Tom Cosgrove said, “This agreement (with RBMH NA) underscores our ongoing commitment to deliver the most unique and compelling native 3D content possible.”
DirectTV is currently showing 3net programs.
