Survey carried out by Nielsen Younger has revealed that consumers in the age group of 25 to 29 years from the Middle East nations, Africa and Pakistan forms the largest base of people with interest for 3D TV’s. This group has been named as MEAP.

MarketingCharts on the other hand brings out the fact that as of now there are just 12 percent people who have an intent or interest in purchasing 3D TV.

Out of this total interested consumer base the majority is from MEAP nations. They account for an interest index score of 200 which means that these consumers are twice as likely to purchase a 3D TV as compared to consumers from other nations. After the MEAP nations the next to figure in the interest index scale is Latin America with a score of 175.

There is a sharp drop in the curve thereafter and the score of 100 is held by countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Countries like North America and Europe score 75 in the interest index scale which means there are people who would most likely not own a 3D TV at all.

A country wise interest index amongst these low rung order would place Mexico as the fist amongst North American nations for 3D TV ownership interest and is placed seventh which is also the place held by India. US and Switzerland are both tied for the 27th place. The overall top six nations are Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Colombia, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

There would be fifty broadcasters who would be coming up with services in 3D as per reports from IMS Research. IPTV also reports increase in 3D content streaming as well as acceptance in homes in the years to come.
