Health is not the main issue that is barring the entry of 3D TV into the living rooms in a big way. It is rather the lack of any interesting content that is the reason for this poor faring of 3D TV. This conclusion has been drawn by industry analysts.

Rumors and unfounded statements or gossip has lead to false health hazards and fear that range from nausea or headaches induced due to prolonged exposure to 3D TV to even as unrealistic as contracting AIDS from watching 3D TV, all of which are being forced into the mindset of the consumers. Jim Chabin the President of the International 3D Society however negated this reporting by Hollywood Reporter stating that no data was available which verified this health hazard posed by 3D viewing. He however agreed that AIDS has become the most important concern of the public.

He also went on to reconfirm that it was lack of contents alone that was the bane of 3D viewing as of now.

There have been only a few channels that are airing 3D content as per Reporter. This includes ESPN 3D and Discovery 3D net both of which are sponsored by Sony. There is a 3D version of Blu-ray Disc also which permits viewers to watch movies on their 3D sets.
