Advanced technology that LG has used for its latest range of 3D TV is placing it as a strong contender in this hot new segment after Samsung electronics.

The latest from LG is a 55 inch 3D TV set that incorporates light emitting diodes (LED) for backlighting purpose. The model named ‘LG 47LX9500 3D LCD TV’ has customers cooing about both its looks and features. Within a thin frame LG has managed to integrate all the technology that decides the effect of depth in a television. This effect is the most sought after feature in all TV of today.

Inventions and innovative approaches being focused towards finding television with higher features has been the focus of companies like Samsung or Sony. Now LG too has joined this technological bandwagon in search of the perfect solution of the “3D frenzy”.

LG uses the LED option and that too the direct lit technology which provides for better and clearer picture. Their TV released in March this year had this approach and forms one of the benchmark products in TV sets. The set has an additional feature of the remote being a magic wander thereby providing the user the ability to access the menu and other controls just by hand gestures. The set also boasts of 480 hertz refresh rates which is a very fast rate at that.

Choi Joon hyuck a company spokesman has claimed that the picture quality would leave nothing wanting. The images, especially with the 3D effect would look life like.

The added facility of browsing the Internet is also integrated in this set using the ‘NetCast Entertainment Access” protocol. One can not only browse but also get feeds of the video and audio that are available across the net in plenty and all this via a high definition TV output.

As if this is not all, the set also integrates LAN connectivity. One can use this facility for Yahoo TV widgets, Netflix, Vudu, Skype Napster, Youtube and Picasa. A 10 million to 1 dynamic contrast ratio and full 1080 pixel HD resolution is also featured in this set. Even the USB connection has not been left off for which two ports have been incorporated. The set also has 4 HDMI ports, which means connecting Blu-ray disc players of other high definition gaming consoles is not a problem at all.

The price though is very much on the higher side as the 55 inch LED backlit LCD TV with all its innovative features will set one back by a cool 6.3 million won. This however is inclusive of two sets of 3D glasses. If you think this is a bit on the higher side, there is the 47 inch TV that comes for 4.7 million won.

LG plans to take up 25 percent of the market share in 3D television sales by this year end. There is more such 3D LED series therefore in the offing from LG.
