3D And 4K Technologies Come Under the Scanner at SVG Europe’s Football Production Summit
The Football Production summit which is the inaugural event of SVG Europe would be the event where 3D and 4K technologies would be put to test. The event is scheduled for 29 February and the Venue is Paris.
The specific games would be the English Premier League, Bundesliga and Uefa Championship’s league amongst other similar ones that the 3D technology would be put to use. Peter Angell, who is the Advisory Group chairman of SVG Europe, would moderate the entire telecast. He is also the director of HBS which in turn is the company which is responsible for production and programming at Fifa World Cup. The 3D telecast would be effected all over the continent. Needless to say, the future of 4k so far as its demand is concerned would also be tested during this event.
The panel of people who would be joining in the discussion would be Robin Broomfield from BSkyB 3D. He is the operations and development manager there. There would also be Steve Schklair, the CEO 3ality Technica. Vince Pace the co-founder of Cameron Pace Group and Can Communicate creative director Duncan Humphreys.
Issues like effect of 3D on telecast of sporting events would be discussed. This against the back drop of the technological advance that has been effected in 3D. Whether this so called advancement is just a mere talk or people have accepted it in reality is what the discussion would be about. The panel would also discuss the reason why some countries who claim to have harnessed modern 3d techniques yet go about telecasting in SD and 4:3 format.
The opening address at the program would be given by Uefa’s head of TV production Bernie Ross. It would be followed by lectures by representatives from Italian football club AC Milan, English Premier League club Manchester and England’s Football League. Speakers from Sony, Perform, Stats, Opta, deltatre and Wasserman Media group would speak on topics like ‘Football Broadcast Technologies’, and ‘Football Club Perspectives’.
