And for this, we got to extend our gratitude to none other than the renowned Hollywood director James Cameron along with of course Russian conductor Valery Gergiev.

The performance is scheduled for June 6th when Ekaterina Kondaurova will ‘dance the role of Odette/Odile in Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”‘. The Ballet performance will be made available in 50 countries across Asia, Australia, Europe, United States, South America, along with a few other regions.

The Mariinsky opera house built in the 19th century has been the showpiece of Russian culture during its heydays in the Soviet era. However, it ran into rough times with the collapse of the Soviet empire. Mariinsky’s general and artistic director Gergiev then had to resort to world tours to garner resources to keep the show going. But with Russia now ensuring enough funds, its domestic performances that is back on the agenda for Gergiev.
